A major reconstruction of the new Poprad coworking and startup center (f)ITcubator took place in the Reduta premises between June and September 2019. In addition to a creative room for seminars and teamwork, the premises also housed three laboratories intended for use in planned projects in the Smart City. In addition to a detailed analysis of the city’s urban area, the City of Poprad also obtained important data on the quality of the environment, transport and tourist traffic in selected zones. In addition, the City of Poprad can also be proud of a modern workplace in the field of energy management, monitoring and the use of green sustainable energies. The third focus of the laboratories is the use of virtual and augmented reality in cities for the needs of urban planning, tourism, or new methods in education in cooperation with the successful Poprad startup Cviker.
Creative laboratories are supported by innovative companies such as Hikvision, Slovanet, Cisco, and Slovak Telekom. They also want to support the development of secondary technical schools and contribute to equipping vocational workplaces with technologies so that young people can continue to expand their skills in the laboratories of the non-profit organization.
