International Conference of the Hungarian Carpathian Association

Event date: 11 May 2023 at the Podtatranská Library in Poprad

Conference goals:

1. After decades of biased interpretations of the activities of the Hungarian Carpathian Association, provide an objective assessment of its work in the High and Belianske Tatras, as well as the wider, precisely defined area beneath them.
2. The outputs of the conference will be: a) a printed proceedings volume of presented topics, intended primarily for secondary school and university libraries, museum libraries, local administrations, and municipal libraries in the region; b) a series of expert presentations broadcast through the conference’s media partners; c) an exhibition titled “Metamorphoses of the Territory”.
3. To create a platform for exchanging views on the development of sustainable tourism in a unique natural environment.
4. To involve students from vocational schools in the preparation and organisation of the conference, encouraging their engagement with the topic.
