On 20–21 June 2024, another edition of the Metro ON / ROCK Line 2024 conference took place at AquaCity Poprad, with (f)ITcubator participating as one of the expert partners.Participants learned how to design smart districts and buildings that meet the highest standards for comfortable, safe and efficient living. This year’s edition focused on SMART infrastructure, which will soon connect everything around us — not only in cities, but also inside buildings. As always, the latest technological innovations in the telco and smart-city sectors were an essential part of the programme. Leaders in residential district and building design, architectural innovation and smart infrastructure (Internet of Energy, electromobility…) presented their topics in panel discussions and dedicated sessions. In a special block, participants received detailed insights into how data helps improve both new and existing projects. The programme also included case studies of completed projects and practical applications of AI. The conference was also accompanied by distinguished guests from the fields of science (Slovak Academy of Sciences) and architecture (Slovak Chamber of Architects). One of the conference’s goals was to connect scientific knowledge about new energy sources, smart buildings and the (re)design of entire districts, as well as effective Smart City & Smart Building solutions.
The conference traditionally opened its doors to secondary school students from the districts of Poprad, Spišská Nová Ves and Stará Ľubovňa.
